Cedar's Team

Cedar's team is comprised of the fund's principals and its active advisors located internationally. Together, the team offers a comprehensive mix of talents, backgrounds and insights. Both together and individually, Cedar Fund’s team has exceptional experience and a successful track record of investing and building high tech companies.


Amnon Shoham. Amnon Shoham brings to Cedar Fund a wealth of experience investing in and building quality high tech companies from the ground up since 1993, where his portfolio of investments has achieved successful returns over the last decade.
Mr. Shoham focuses on investments in the enterprise software space, and is an active board member on several of Cedar Fund’s portfolio companies including ClickFox, Orsus and WebCollage. Previously, he served as a director for Appilog, which was acquired by HP/Mercury and Onaro that was acquired by NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP).
Prior to founding Cedar Fund, Mr. Shoham was the Managing Partner of Star Ventures in Israel, where he built and managed its investment activity in Israel. Mr. Shoham has served as director on the following Nasdaq-traded companies’ boards: Accord Networks (ACCD, acquired by Polycom, PLCM); BreezeCOM (BRZE, now Alvarion, ALVR); Fourth Dimension Software (DDDF, acquired by BMC Software, BMC); Fundtech (FNDT); Jacada (JCDA); NICEcom (acquired by 3com Corp.,COMS); Paradigm Geophysical (PGEO) and ViryaNet (VRYA). Mr. Shoham’s activity on Star’s behalf also included investments in Armon Networking (acquired by Bay Networks), Summit Design (now Innoveda, INOV) and Precise Software (PRSE). He was also instrumental in facilitating Star’s investment in Creo Products, (CREO) and Orckit Communications (ORCT).
Before turning to venture capital investing, Mr. Shoham worked as an attorney in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, a leading U.S. law firm, where he focused on public offerings and mergers and acquisitions involving high technology companies.

Gal Israely. A co-founder of Cedar and an active board member of several of the fund’s companies, Mr. Israely brings to Cedar broad and global experience, connections and point of view, mainly in the communications field. Mr. Israely was previously a Managing Director in the High Tech Investment Banking group of Bear Stearns in NY. Prior to that, Mr. Israely held various managerial, financial and operational positions.
Mr. Israely uses his experience and expertise in the networking and communications space to focus on investments in the component and networking equipment areas. He holds board seats on the following Cedar Fund portfolio companies: BigBand (NASDAQ: BBND,) Celtro, Red-C, Siverge, Amimon and Winetworks.

Nimrod Schwartz. One of the founders of NetVision, Israel’s leading ISP, Mr. Schwartz brings to Cedar the technologist and entrepreneur’s perspective. With 5 years as NetVision’s VP of Business Development and CTO and over 12 years of technology and engineering experience with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC,) Mr. Schwartz is experienced in the operations aspects of technology development, support and management.
Mr. Schwartz currently focuses on opportunities in IT Datacom and Telecom infrastructure software, systems, and services and has also been involved with several Cedar portfolio companies in the areas of storage and security software and systems. He holds board seats in Guardium, iAmba, Media Layers, NewAct, PeerApp and Profitect.

Ronen Yehoshua. Mr. Yehoshua joined Cedar in 2006. He is a Principal who focuses on the communications, wireless and consumer electronics fields. His career spans over 13 years of technology and investment experience in these sectors. Before joining Cedar, Ronen served as Vice President in Uzia Initiatives & Management, headed by Uzia Galil, where he was responsible for facilitating technology cooperation between Israeli and global companies. Before that, he held the position of Director of investment and cooperation in Partner Future Communications (PFC), part of Partner Communications, the Orange operator in Isarel. There, he focused on investments and cooperation with start up companies developing technologies and services for the cellular market, and where he was also responsible for new business innovations in Orange. Prior to PFC, Ronen spent 7 years with ECI Telecom, most recently as Director of Business Development in the Integrated Network Solutions Strategic Business Unit. Ronen holds an MBA from Ben Gurion University and BSc. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University. Mr. Yehoshua serves on Onset's board of directors.

Dorin Miller. A venture partner with Cedar Fund, Ms. Miller brings to Cedar extensive startup and corporate IT operational experience. Prior to joining Cedar Fund, Ms. Miller was VP of Marketing and New Business for Memco Software (Nasdaq: MEMCF,) a successful Israeli software startup providing enterprise information security solutions. Before Memco, Ms. Miller spent five years as a senior IT consultant working for major Wall Street banks in New York. She started her career in the Israeli Navy, where she served for four years as a computer programmer and technology specialist. Ms. Miller focuses on opportunities in enterprise software and serves on Aprigo's and WebLayers’ boards of directors.

Prof. Moshe Tur. Prof. Moshe Tur is a venture partner with Cedar. He assists Cedar Fund in early stage investments in the communications field with emphasis on optical communications, while continuing to teach and do research at Tel Aviv University, where he is also the Gordon Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Faculty of Engineering, and where he established a fiber-optic communication and sensing laboratory. Prof. Tur authored or co-authored numerous journal and conference technical papers with recent emphasis on fiber-optic communication systems. Prof. Tur is a Fellow of both the IEEE and the Optical Society of America.

Roy Erez. Mr. Erez is a venture partner with Cedar Fund and is the VP of Business Development at iSkoot, Inc., a Cambridge, MA based start-up company, providing carriers and internet portals with the capability to extend PC-PC VoIP calling to cell phones. Prior to joining iSkoot, Mr. Erez spent 7 years with Cedar as an investment manager, most recently in Cedar Fund's Boston office.

Rina Kemeny. Ms. Rina Kemeny joined Cedar in 2005 and serves as director of finance. Prior to joining Cedar, Ms. Kemeny worked as assistant controller for Champion Motors, the representative of the Volkswagen group of companies in Israel, following several years experience as a senior CPA for KPMG Israel, where she audited high-tech companies. Ms. Kemeny is a CPA, and has a B.A. degree in accounting and communications from Tel Aviv University.

Shlomit Chalaf. Ms. Shlomit Chalaf joined Cedar in 2006. She serves as controller. Prior to joining Cedar, Ms. Chalaf spent two years as Senior Accountant in Deloitte & Touche U.S., where she worked with publicly traded client companies subject to SEC reporting requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Before joining Deloitte, she worked as assistant controller for Alliance Israel, an industrial company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock exchange. Ms. Chalaf has previous experience working as a senior CPA for Ernest & Young Israel. She has a B.A. degree in accounting and economics from Haifa University in Israel.

Hila Hubsch. Ms. Hila Hubsch joined Cedar in 2007. As Corporate Counsel she oversees legal matters relating to the fund, investment transactions and portfolio companies. Prior to joining Cedar, Hila was the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of RiT Technologies Ltd., a member of the RAD BYNET Group (NASDAQ: RITT) a provider of intelligent solutions for infrastructure management, asset management and network utilization. Before that, she was the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of On Track Innovations Ltd. (NASDAQ: OTIV) a provider of secure contactless microprocessor-based smart card technology. Before that she was the Corporate Secretary of Rotem Amfert Negev Ltd., a subsidiary of ICL.
Hila has an L.L.B. from the Tel Aviv University, is a member of the Israeli Bar and has an M.B.A. from Bradford University in Israel.

Einat Shefer. Einat Shefer joined Cedar in 2005. She is Cedar's Operations Manager, responsible for office, administration and potential portfolio management. Prior to joining Cedar, Einat was an International Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Rad Data Communications Ltd., where she managed the Sales Desk & Customer Support Activities for the U.S., China, India and Eastern Europe.
Einat holds a B.A. degree in Management from Ben Gurion University.
