What We Look For
Cedar Fund is looking for early stage, Israel-related, high technology companies that represent a high growth potential in the communications, networking, enterprise software and Internet infrastructure areas. We seek those companies that, with an innovative technology solution, address a wide and critical business problem.
As we meet with companies and entrepreneurs, we look in our prospective entrepreneur-partners for, in addition to deep technology skills and experience, the passion necessary to drive a company and realize its potential. As early stage investors we don’t need to see a company's full-blown business plan and sometimes we may be interested in hearing business ideas even before they are fully formed.
How should entrepreneurs approach us? We specialize in early stage and have strong domain expertise. As a result, we can evaluate company information even if it isn't formatted as a full business plan. Since we receive many telephone calls, e-mails, and business plans for consideration, the most efficient way to get our attention is by sending a 1-4 page e-mail. We recommend that interested entrepreneurs read through our Web site to familiarize with our portfolio, success and the way we work to assess that we are the kind of investment partner that they seek. Ideally, entrepreneurs should seek a reference from our network of contacts and portfolio company executives to facilitate an introduction.
After meeting with an entrepreneur or a company, we internally consider its growth potential, the likelihood of the proposed solution to become a “killer application” for the targeted market, and the entrepreneurs’ commitment and passion for the venture. If we can sense that the team has the talent, skills and the conviction to drive the business to success, and the market is promising, we become interested.
