Overview

Cedar Fund’s investment strategy is guided by a few core principles:

  • Investment areas. Cedar Fund invests in early stage companies developing technologies in the networking, communications, enterprise software and Internet infrastructure areas.
  • Early stage. Cedar Fund focuses its investment in early stage companies, including Pre-Seed, Seed, First round and other early stages, where Cedar's experience and capabilities offer the greatest potential.
  • Quality, not quantity. Cedar Fund prefers to make long-term, large investments in a small number of companies, each of which is carefully screened and selected for its high growth potential.
  • Focused attention. Cedar Fund maintains a high ratio of partners to portfolio companies. This lets the firm dedicate attention to help portfolio companies and be active and involved partners.
  • True partnership. Cedar Fund provides its entrepreneur-partners with guidance, advice, an international network of contacts, a wealth of business experience and long-term support.
  • International presence, Israel-related focus. Cedar Fund's principals and active advisors are located internationally in the U.S. and Israel, to ensure that portfolio companies receive assistance both while in product developlemt as well as market development and expansion phases.
  • Pre-Seed investments and financial services. Cedar Fund sometimes invests in exceptional entrepreneurs without a fully formed business idea, helps them find the killer application for a targeted high-growth market and leverage Cedar’s experience and connections to complete the team.
  • Long term. While Cedar Fund typically begins its investment in a portfolio company at an early stage, we continue investing in our companies over multiple rounds, making the size of our investment in each company substantial.
